How a Meeting Works

At EDC Toastmasters, every meeting follows a structured yet dynamic format. Here’s what you can expect when you join us:

Welcome & Introduction

The evening begins with a warm welcome to members and guests. The Toastmaster of the Evening introduces the agenda and explains how the meeting will unfold.

Part 1 - Prepared Speeches

Three members deliver pre-prepared speeches in this first part of the meeting, each designed to practice specific skills.

  • After each speech, written feedback is shared by the audience
  • At the end of this section, all participants vote for the Best Speaker

Part 2 - Table Topics

This is the impromptu speaking section and the second part of the meeting. Volunteers or selected members are given a surprise topic and deliver a short, spontaneous speech. It’s a fun way to practice thinking on your feet!

Closing & Announcements

The meeting wraps up with final notes, announcements, and recognition of winners. Guests are often invited to share their impressions.
